Funny guy’s blog
Last night I had the chance to go blog browsing and I came up with a really funny one. This guy writes about stuff he has eaten, despite his wife’s best efforts to stop him. He has a very refreshing and funny style of writing although sometimes his language may offend a few people.
All in all I enjoyed this site and I think you can visit it too if you don’t mind his sometimes colorful language. I do not endorse anything presented on the site, I am simply saying I thought parts of it were funny and you may get a good laugh out of it.

- Use the free checks you get from the bank. When you open a checking account the bank gives you one whole box of free checks. Most of us don’t even use the checks because sometimes they are really ugly and no one wants to use ugly checks right? So we hold on to them and order new checks (that we have to PAY for) and when they come in we throw the bank styles in the trash. WHY? The ugly checks are just as valid as the pretty ones with the rainbows and the unicorns that you spend extra money on. If you really want to keep track of your money then sometimes you can find yourself saving on really small, simple things that you do not even take much notice of.
Sore throat
Today I have a sore throat. We had volleyball on Saturday and I was? a cheerleader so I was screaming my head off. Of course my team won, so that just made me scream even more.
The other teams are upset but we don’t care. Well today I am paying for all of that screaming and shouting with a really painful sore throat.? My throat is swollen on the inside and it really hurts to swallow. Serves me right for that display on Saturday.
Caribfest 2006
I am a member of the Caribbean Pan Ensemble at Midwestern State University located in Wichita Falls.
This group plays steel pan at a number of different locations in the Wichita Falls community and we have played at other venues in Texas.
We have a playout today for the radiology department. (pics to come)
I will keep you updated on the rest of our activities for the year.
How does this relate to saving money? It doesn’t….it is just an ad for my group. We are a non profit group and cannot charge for performances.
Random thoughts 10/20/06
Today I was looking at someone who ‘claims’ to be broke. Yet this person was flashing a decked out car and talking about adding more enhancements.
Then I looked at someone else who is also ‘broke’ but is planning on buying some REALLY expensive clothes in the not too distant future. I was trying to figure out if the clothes would be an investment in her future or maybe they were some interest-bearing outfits or maybe they were trimmed in gold thread and would appreciate as time went by.
I looked at some enterprising people and saw the efforts they made to try to earn some money. Then I looked at the people who did not make an effort to make their own money but simply criticized those who did. These people spewed negativity and tales of doom instead of taking inspiration and trying to make their own lives better. Why do people still act this way. Why can’t you just take note of what someone did, make it your own and then make it work for you? Why do we just try to drag people down instead of helping them to move up.
There is still too much petty jealousy and hatred going on and it makes me tired.
Electric thoughts
Hey great news on the candle thing.
?
I tried using the candle instead of the light in the bathroom for bathing etc and the electric bill was about $20 lower. Of course this is not scientifically proven but it was just an idea.
There are many things that could have affected the lower bill this month. It has gotten cooler so we do not use fans. I have been going to bed earlier this month too since it is so cold and I want to sleep all the time.
