Cash Duck contest day 2
Don’t forget to check out the Cash Duck contest that I am running right now.
How to save $100 at the airport
Airports are introducing a new speedy checkout for some travelers. Instead of having to remove your shoes to send them through the scanners some passengers can soon pay a premium fee of $100 to just walk through a scanner that will scan the shoes on their feet.
Wow! While I think it is convenient not to have to take off your shoes I really do not think it would be worth paying $100 for that privilege. After all….are you in a hurry? The plane will still be there by the time you get your shoes back on.
Carnival of personal finance #85
Check out the latest edition of the Carnival of Personal Finance over at Five Cent Nickel today. As usual there are tons of great reads and my humble submission on Switching to Geico and saving on my insurance payments.
Since I am currently working on a debt snowball one of the articles I liked was 3 methods to pay down Debt (aka Snowballing Debt) written by Clever Dude.
Check out the rest of the submissions and get your articles ready for the next edition of the carnival.
Zack’s stock challenge Jan 28
I have lost a lot of money on the Zacks stock challenge because I kept shifting my stocks around. I would sell every time I noticed the value of the stocks going down. Then they would be up again the next day at a higher price which would have earned me some money.
I have decided to just leave the stocks that I have alone right now and see what happens in a few weeks instead of trying to tweak my holdings every day…sometimes multiple times during the day.
Found Money
I went to do laundry and found 15 cents in the washer. This apparently fell out of someone’s clothes while they were washing and they did not notice when they emptied the machine.
I said I would leave it to see if anyone would come to claim it because there were about 4 dryers going and there were some washers that were on the very last cycle. I went ahead and put all my clothes in the washer and started it…and waited………
………….and waited……………..
CashDuck contest
Hey everyone,
You have heard me talking about CashDuck where you get paid to try various website offers. When you sign up for CashDuck you can get referrals and you earn 10% of what your referrals earn so that will be a few extra cents or a few dollars depending on how well your referrals perform.
I have earned about $7.00 from all of my referrals and I am running a contest here to see if I can raise that. I will be giving out a $10 gift card bonus to the referral who earns the most money during the week of Jan 28 to Feb 3, 2007.
Cold again
Just when I thought it was finally starting to warm up it gets cold again. On Thursday night it was nice and warm and I did not have to use the heater. I breathed a sigh of relief because I thought I would finally be able to get the electricity bill back to normal.
Friday was not too bad and I was doing my happy dance….then I get up this morning and it is 41 degrees outside. Now my apartment is crazy and it is always colder inside than it is outside so I am freezing. I have to haul out the space heater because I will be spending most of the day in one room anyway.
Technorati
Apparently technorati thinks that this blog does not exist although one page it states the number of other blogs that link to this one.
I guess I will have to remove it and reclaim it. I have no idea how this happened.
