Save Money by Moving In With Your Parents..and other UNREALISTIC Financial Advice

Today I have a bit of a rant on personal financial advice that I think is TOTALLY unrealistic. This is supposedly one of the great ways you can save money. “Move In with Your Parents”
It seems simple enough….except that some people CANNOT do this. Please stop saying it is easy because it is not….you KNOW who I am talking to.
My parents live 2560 miles from where I work therefore it would NOT be economical to move back in with them to save money on rent. Going to work at my current job would be impossible. This tip is definitely not for me.
Blood Clot in Lung
Welcome to How I Save Money.
Mother is BACK in the hospital again. We went in for her to get a CT scan of her abdomen so they could check on the progress the chemotherapy is making when the doctor discovered a blood clot in her lung.
We were having lunch when they called and told us to come back to the hospital immediately so they they could admit her and get the blood thinners started. She is also having another CT scan to confirm that there are no more clots because the first scan only got the bottom of her lung. It was actually an error becuase they were supposed to stop on her stomach….but the tech went just a little bit too far.
Spent $74.97 in One Day…Ugh!

Today’s post is NOT about saving money and I am so mad about this all. My coworkers decided (well the principal told us) to have lunch together to bring us closer together before school starts.
We put names of places in a bag and dipped and came out with this steak place. Good for all the meat eaters…bad for me. I finally found a shrimp meal that I thought would be good.
It was bad.
The shrimp was poorly cooked or poorly seasoned and was just bland. The rice was blah…the potatoes were so so.

Have you ever noticed that Personal Finance Bloggers are an incestuous bunch? While the title was written to catch your attention I mean that in a positive way. PF Bloggers as they refer to themselves are incestuous in the sense that they all link repeatedly to each other, kind of like that bunch up in the hills that ‘link’ to each other too.
Get Amazon Gift Cards For Back To School
I know that school is right around the corner for most people and they don’t know what to get those college students that are heading back. Why not give them an Amazon Gift card so that they can get exactly what they want?
Head over to Amazon and get your college student….or even high school student a gift card and let them have the option to pick what they want. I know I would have loved a gift card while I was in college because I was very picky about the stuff I wanted.

Welcome to How I Save Money. Every so often I am surprised by a blogger or a reader who said that he or she has been inspired by something I did. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside because it still amazes me to see that people are actually reading and enjoying what they read.
