Get FREE Gift Cards from Blue Cross Blue Shield

Posted by LuLuGal | September 10, 2008 .

Welcome to How I Save Money.

Did you know that you can get FREE gift cards if you have insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield? I recently found out about this and so far I have gotten enough credits to get two $5 WalMart gift cards.

Update on September 22, 2008. A reader asked for the link to the site so here it is https://members.hcsc.net/members/mbrsignon_tx.html

Now I just noticed that it says Texas on the page so this might only work for those insured in Texas. Not sure if there is a separate site for each state.

Welcome to How I Save Money.

I like taking pictures of things that I buy, especially my CVS purchases….but I do not own a digital camera. I would REALLY love to have one so that I can take pics to put up on the blog but since that is not an essential purchase all I can do now is just wish.

I got a GPS for my birthday so I guess my allocation of electorics is done for the rest of the year. If I had the money I would like to get this camera because it looks so good and it has some great features.

How I Save Money At CVS: September 5

Posted by LuLuGal | September 6, 2008 .

Welcome to How I Save Money. I am on a quest to see how much stuff I can get from CVS without spending any extra money out of my pocket. Once again I was able to go into CVS and NOT buy any toothpaste…..although the urge was very strong.

I have decided to keep including pictures but they will now be original pictures from Amazon.com. That way if you wish to purchase any item but do not want to go to CVS then you can order from the Amazon site (and I will get a percentage of your purchase as a referral).

How I Saved Money At WalMart By Using a Coupon

Posted by LuLuGal | September 5, 2008 .

Welcome to How I Save Money.

Most people do not want to use coupons because the coupons are usually for the brand name items, which are more expensive than the store brands. I have found this to be the case in general EXCEPT for those times when the coupon makes the brand name item CHEAPER than the store brand.

I went to WalMart to get sandwich bags so I could take my lunch to work. The Ziploc bags cost $2.37 for 120 the cost was $0.01795 per bag.

The Great Value bags were $2.00 for 100 so the cost was $0.02 per bag.

Why Do We Keep On Missing Each Other? (WML Group Writing Project)

Posted by LuLuGal | September 3, 2008 .

Welcome to How I Save Money. Every month the members of the Wealth, Money & Life Network take on a topic and write as a group. The topic for this month is Missed Opportunities.

I love the song”Missed Opportunities” by Hall and Oates. I think it relates well to my relationship with money right now because money and I just keep missing each other. Our world is out of order….and I all I see is missed opportunities.

How I Save Money At CVS: August 30

Posted by LuLuGal | September 2, 2008 .

Welcome to How I Save Money. I am on a quest to see how much stuff I can get from CVS without spending any extra money out of my pocket.

This time I only got one item that my mother needed. I am down to only one ECB right now but mother needed the denture stuff and it was going to cost me more to get it at WalMart. There are some good deals at CVS next week and I am really interested in those, so I have my manufacturer coupons all ready to go.
