Update on Mother’s Bills

Posted by LuLuGal | October 24, 2008 .

This never ending saga with the insurance company is driving me crazy. They have not paid ANY of the bills for the hospital visits from FOUR months ago.

Now the hospital is sending ME bills of over $20K apiece as if I can afford to pay that. Well they are on mother’s name…but still, I am the one opening them up every few days.

How I Save Money At CVS: October 18 and 19

Posted by LuLuGal | October 21, 2008 .

Welcome to How I Save Money. I am on a quest to see how much stuff I can get from CVS without spending any extra money out of my pocket.

I ended up going to a CVS out of town because the CVS where I live did not have the items in stock. Now I did not make a special trip just for this but since I had to be in that other place I decided to stop at that CVS.

Item: Colgate Max Fresh toothpaste with beads.

Lending Club is Up, Prosper is Down

Posted by LuLuGal | October 16, 2008 .

I have written many times about using both Lending Club and Prosper for investments. I have made small loans to others on both of those sites so that I can make some more money to tackle my debt.

I also got a loan on Lending Club that I used to consolidate my credit card debt to a lower rate bundle. Lending Club was silent for a little while because they were going through a registration process. This meant that you could not lend any more money than what you had already put in.

Saving Money At Work Makes My Coworkers Mad

Posted by LuLuGal | October 15, 2008 .

Welcome To How I Save Money!

I work in a little place where we have a staff of about 12 people. Since we are so small, everyone tends to be all up in everyone else’s business and they talk a lot about what  is going on.

There is a man who comes to the workplace to sell fruits and vegetables at $44.50 a box. The box contains an assortment of things like grapefruits, bananas, sweet potatoes, strawberries and green beans to name a few. The man only takes cash or checks (understandably) and wants to be paid on the spot.

Credit Score Went Down A Bit

Posted by LuLuGal | October 13, 2008 .

I had to put a credit freeze on my accounts when I got notice that my information might have been compromised.  As a result of this, I get alerts every time there is a change in my credit score.

I recently did a big balance transfer to one of my credit cards to take advantage of lower interest rates, in an effort to save money.

This meant that I now carry a high balance on one card, which, along with some other factors, caused my credit score to drop from 710 to 686. I am quite annoyed by this but I am glad that I have the information.
