Now these wipes are simply cloths that you use instead of toilet paper, sort of like baby wipes. The main difference is that unlike baby wipes, these wipes are made of a washable material….sort of like cloth diapers.

You use the wipe and then toss it into some container and wash in the machine when you have a load (pardon the pun).

Now I am all about finding ways to save money but this one strikes me as a little bit too frugal. I really cannot fathom using a cloth wipe and then having it sit somewhere until I can wash it and then reusing that cloth…even if it is washed in bleach and hot water.

I guess they could make the analogy that your underwear does get some er ‘stuff’ on it sometimes and yet you still wash and wear it…but this is different.

I received a new card in the mail from the company and this immediately spurred me to check my credit report because I had not ordered a new card. The expiration date on the current card was far away and since I was not using the card I knew exactly where it was and that the balance was zero.

When I opened the card there was just the regular letter saying please destroy the old card and call this number from your home phone to activate the new card.

Here is the problem

* Old Card expires 2012

* Replacement Card expires 2011

What?

I called customer service (after 9pm on my cellphone to avoid using my minutes and save some money) and demanded asked for an explanation.

The  customer service rep said that the company was encouraging people to use the card so they were sending out new ones and deactivating the old cards.

Now HOW does this encourage me to use the card? It is the the same card…with the same limit and the same interest rate.

The old card is just as shiny as the new one so nothing has changed except the three digit code on the back of the card.

Note to company: If you want to “encourage me to use the card” try the following steps:

* Increase my credit limit

* Reduce my interest rate

* Offer a 0% balance transfer offer

Pick one of the above and I will use the card more (instead of once every few months to buy ONE item on my shopping list to keep the card active and get a free credit score from you).

Here are the details:

You can use services like IZEA, which is a social site that exposes your work to a large number of people . When you use this service you can look for other blogs or websites to sponsor and they will write reviews of your site.

Lender Sign up is Easy

It was easy enough to join as a lender until I saw what they did to verify the account. Normally, when you have to verify an account online the place you are trying to verify sends a small deposit to your account.

Not Lending Club!!!

They actually withdrew a small amount from my account.

What?

This amount was then kept in my balance as part of the funds I would have available to lend in the future.

I found Lens.com coupons that work with making a large purchase, such as buying multiple boxes of contact lenses.The site tells you when each coupon is set to expire so that you know up to what date you can use it. When you click on the link for the coupon it brings up a pop up window that tells you what code to enter and then the main window takes you directly to the merchant site. This was useful to me because it gives you an extra little discount that may not be available directly from the merchant. It also groups all of the available coupons and discounts that are available from that particular merchant in one spot so that you do not have to go searching all over the site to find them.
