The very first thing I think you need to is get with a budget. Step one is to track what you spend for the month and compare it to what you make. Don't try to make any changes yet...just record where your money goes. List things like what you spend for rent car food entertainment utilities phone etc. Write down all your expenses!!!!! Don't leave anything out. It might help you to create a spreadsheet in Excel OR you can sign up for Mint.com or QuickenOnline.com as they are both FREE and will track for you. After you have seen where your money goes come back and we can work on a budget for you. @ Poor Me

I was not taught the basics: checking acct, debit/credit, savings, retirement, etc. So I find myself in $10,000 debt and am not sure were to turn.
