Tracking My Finances In 2009: July 1
Welcome to tracking of income and expenses for the month. Please note that I get paid on the last day of the month so my cash flow net effect will usually be negative until the last day of the month.
This does not mean that I am adding to my debt, it just means that the money coming in is less than the money going out because bills are due starting on the first but I don’t get paid until the last day.
So again to clarify (since I get so many questions), this shows the cash FLOW for the month. On Day 2 of every month I will have a negative FLOW because I have paid rent etc so money has LEFT my checking account. I have not had any money come in on Day 2 of the current month since I got paid on day 27 or 30 or 31 of the previous month so that income is counted for LAST month.
Income for the month to date: $0.00
Expenses for the month to date: $753.69
Net effect: -$753.69
Since the last posting I paid rent and all other fees associated with the apartment. I also spent $25.88 on some food items since I have nothing at all in my cupboards to eat over the next few days.
I ended June on a bad note, going $57.03 over my budget due to a lot of extra spending for my trip home. I had to purchase luggage since I do not have any luggage at all and I also got some stuff to bring home for my family.
Payday was yesterday so I am starting the month off with my accounts full once more. I made a few tweaks to the budget and I am now grouping food and other personal items under the category Household, instead of separating them.
I signed my new lease today and rent will be going up in August so I adjusted the budget to take that into account.
