Save money on candles…or not?
I just read a post (forgot on what blog) about how you can save money on scented candles by using a candle warmer instead of matches or lighters.
I have been considering this because I do not like the idea of the smoke going all through my apartment all the time. My concern is the amount of electricity that these candle warmers end up using.
When I use matches they only cost a few cents and I get the added benefit of having light in the room so that I do not have to use my light bulbs to see in some of the darker rooms, like the bathroom.
Save Money on mopping
I received the following email from a reader and I am reprinting it with permission.
“I figured this one out several months back and it works great. I purchased one of those Clorox Ready Mops… Im sure you are familiar with them:

Anyway, I soon learned that the replacement mop pads and the liquid cleaning solution get expensive over time. The solution? Instead of buying those disposable mop pads, just buy a pack of dish rags. Wal-Mart has a pack of 4-5 for like $2.00. Then just use these in place of the pads. They work much better, and you can flip them over midway through cleaning and use the other side. Then once dirty, toss em in the dirty laundry hamper, put em in the washing machine and they are like new again!

Making money today
I am having an interesting day today. I get to make some money right now instead of simply trying to save some money but since it all ends up as no money going out of my accounts then I am happy.
The first two periods were interesting.
My Knight in shining armor
I did not really find a knight in shining armor today ….but I did find Shawn Knight who left some good comments on this blog. Shawn runs a tech site here so how he ever found this lil inconspicuous blog about how to save money is totally beyond me. But hey I am not complaining…more traffic for me.
Shawn also emailed me with a suggestion for a post and with his permission (pretty please) I will include some (or maybe all) of the email when I do write about this. While going over Shawn’s blog roll I found two other sites that I liked and I am going to talk about them later.
Increase my Save Money ranking on Google Search
I am currently on page two of Google’s search page when you do a search for the words ‘save money’. I am working on getting to be on the first page so I am now trying to find a way to include the words save money in every post I do.
Sometimes this will be easy but I am wondering how I can work in it when I am doing a link to someone else’s blog that I have visited and found interesting.
Hmmmm …the challenges abound but I am kinda bored right now so I think it will be interesting to try to find a way to work the two words in.

Homemade air fresheners
Here’s a great way to freshen up your home without spending a lot of money. Simply boil some cinnamon, the stick kind…not the powdered variety. To do this you need a stick of cinnamon and a pot of water. Bring the cinnamon to a boil in the pot until the water starts to turn reddish. This gives you delicious, natural, cinnamon tea that you can enjoy for breakfast or at any other time during the day.
