Every Dollar Should Have A Job

Posted by LuLuGal | May 15, 2009.

Now that you have made the decision to budget you should put your money to work.

I mean REALLY work.

Every dollar should have a specific function whether it be to

* pay bills

* have fun

* build savings

This is also known as the zero based budget  and it means that once you total the income and the ‘expenses’ the difference between them should be zero.

I Have NO Limits!!!

Posted by LuLuGal | May 13, 2009.

I am officially without limits…when it comes to my cell phone. I am a long time customer of T-Mobile and they have a plan for users just like me to go TOTALLY unlimited.

Woo hoo!!!!

There are officially TWO plans for long term customers that you have to specifically request.

* Single User Plan $49.99

* Family Plan $89.99

With these two plans you get unlimited talk time for one flat rate so you never have to worry about managing your minutes again. You keep your nights and weekends but you have no limits on the amount of time you can talk during the day.

Simplifying My Finances EVEN More

Posted by LuLuGal | May 11, 2009.

The thing I like about having a budget is that I can tweak it to fit different circumstances at different times. I set up a zero based budget where every dollar is accounted for and has a job to perform.

As I have built up my Emergency Fund and made the best use of ING for various savings goals I have become more comfortable with the flow of cash through my various accounts. This is not to say that I have the (Suze Orman recommended) 8 months of expenses saved up but I do know where my money is going to and coming from at different points in time.

How I Save Money At CVS: 10 May 2009

Posted by LuLuGal | May 10, 2009.

Today I paid $0.49 out of pocket for $5.49 worth of items.
I was going in just to get the Crest mouthwash when I realized that there was a FREE item that I could get as well. I used the ECBs from last week to get the medicine for FREE and then used the ECBs from the medicine to get the mouthwash. Score!!!!!

I have now earned about THREE times what I spent in real money in ECBs. CVS rocks!!!!

Transaction 1

Item: Bayer pain medicine

Price: $2.00

CVS Extra Care Bucks earned: $2.00

Credit Report Time!!!!!

Posted by LuLuGal | May 8, 2009.

It is time to order your FREE credit report again from www.annualcreditreport.com.  Since you can only order one free credit report every twelve months from one of the credit bureaus, it is best to space them out and order one every four months.

That way you will be better able to see changes in your credit file over the year instead of having to wait a whole twelve months for the next set of reports.

You can get your free credit report from

Transunion

Equifax

Experian

Tracking My Finances In 2009: 4 May

Posted by LuLuGal | May 5, 2009.

Welcome to  tracking of income and expenses for the month. Please note thatI get paid on the last day of the month so my cash flow net effect will usually be negative until the last day of the month.

This does not mean that I am adding to my debt, it just means that the money coming in is less than the money going out because bills are due starting on the first but I don’t get paid until the last day.
