No way of telling if it's related, but HSBC Direct has a retarded website. After about a week of fiddling around and getting "A technical error has occurred", I finally wrote their customer support and received and email that said the compatible browsers are:
Internet Explorer 6 - 7
Firefox 1.5 - 2.0

I guess it didn't like my Firefox 3.0.</description>
