Simple Savings Plan

I have started a really simple savings plan in order to improve my situation. I am using the automatic transfer function to transfer a small sum from my checking account to my online savings account. This amount is small enough that I consider it negligible and since it is an automatic transfer I do not even think about it.
The amount being transferred is smaller than my checking account buffer so I am not worried about being overdrawn. This simple tactic will ensure that I do have activity on my account that is positive and it is something that I can simply download to balance my accounts when I need to.
I hope to increase this amount soon, but for now I am just letting the pennies add up.
