$10 bet…day 2

Posted by LuLuGal | November 27, 2006 .

I made a bet with my boyfriend on Sunday 11/26/06 that I could lose 10lbs by Sunday 12/26/06. Why? Hmmmmmmmmm, maybe I went a little bit crazy for a few seconds.

He did not think I could do it so we got the amount whittled to 5lbs lost in the two week period. That really got my blood boiling and I am convinced I can do it. In fact I will do more than 5 lbs and we will see what he has to say to that!

Answers to some of the burning questions:

Blog’s worth

Posted by LuLuGal | November 26, 2006 .

I just found this cute little button that supposedly calculates what your blog is worth. The mechanics behind it are beyond me but it said my blog is now worth $564.54.

Okay then. So what now? Can I cash that in and run off to Hawaii and buy a condo on the beach? Or maybe I can get myself a blue Lexus Rx 400 like I always wanted.
Nah, I am just playing. I put in a few other blog URLs for fun just to see the values they would come up with and boy was I surprised.

Check your credit report

Posted by LuLuGal | November 26, 2006 .

After that mini crisis with the credit card payment I decided to check my credit score. I hauled out my current credit cards so that I could compare the numbers with what showed up on the report.

Red Flag! There is a card that I do not hold in my hand that is showing up on the report. No….I called customer service and told them I do have one card with their company but my credit report is showing that I have two.

Big mistake

On a point of order…I got this fixed but did not want to delete the post. I called the credit card company and there was a problem with the website. I did pay on time…and the payment did go through. The website was just showing the wrong information. 11/26/06

Today I noticed that I had committed a debt-reduction sin. I completely forgot to check my software for the due date of one of my credit card payments………………………and when I logged in today the payment date had already passed.

Where did Citgo go?

Posted by LuLuGal | November 22, 2006 .

I recently wrote about getting 3 cents off gas when you use your gas card. Well those gas cards were run by Circle K-Citgo gas stations.

All of the Circle K-Citgo stores have been replaced with Valero gas stations.

Valero does not offer the gas card with the 3 cent per gallon discount.

I guess those gas savings are all gone now?

Where oh where did Citgo go?

Now I have to pay regular price for gas just like everyone else who did not have a Citgo card. I am mad!

PayPal card…again

Posted by LuLuGal | November 22, 2006 .
One of the best cards I have found for daily use is the Paypal card. It is a debit card that you link to a paypal account. You can then link this account to your checking account for backup or have it as a stand alone account. The card gives you 1% cash back on all purchases. When you think about it you may say that 1% is not a lot to get back. Now compare this 1% cash back to 0% which is what you get when you use all your other debit cards. Now does it make a difference?Using your debit card is a good way to help reduce your debt because you get the convenience of swiping a card but it is just like using cash because you know you must have the funds to cover the purchases you are about to make. If you are going to operate on a cash only basis wouldn?t you prefer to get 1% of what you spent back instead of nothing? It makes sense to me and the 1% adds up over time and can help offset those other charges or interest payments in the future.

Think of all the times you use cash to purchase a gas card. Wait?you ARE using a prepaid gas card right? The kind that can save you 3 cents or more per gallon?.which adds up over those long trips! If you are then BRAVO!!!! If not?well all I can say is you better hurry up and get one. Anyway..moving right along. You use your debit card to purchase a gas card and save 3 cents per gallon on the gas card. If you spend $30.00 on the card then you will get 30 cents cash back on your card.

One of the funniest posts I have read in a long time.

Dear Microsoft,
I signed up for your webhosting package a few months ago but I have lost my password.
How do I reset my password?

This has never happened to me, but it cracked me up when i read the entire article. I had to take a few breaks before I could get to the end. Great fun (to read about…..not to actually experience).

The meaning of the word Poor

Posted by LuLuGal | November 21, 2006 .

Being Poor by John

Being poor is knowing exactly how much everything costs.

Being poor is having to keep buying $800 cars because they’re what you can afford, and then having the cars break down on you, because there’s not an $800 car in America that’s worth a damn.

Being poor is thinking $8 an hour is a really good deal.

Being poor is picking the 10 cent ramen instead of the 12 cent ramen because that’s two extra packages for every dollar.
