Discover card rate dropped
Yippeee! Today I took a big risk and decided to call Discover to see if I could get my interest rate lowered. I told the customer service representative that I wanted the rate lowered and after checking out my payment history they decided to drop my rate down 5 points starting on January 13th.
I am so incredibly happy because I did have a really high rate on that card. The interest alone from that card was more than the minimum payments on some of my other cards.
Carnival of Credit Report Stories
I will be hosting the Carnival of Credit Report stories here at Save Money. You can submit any stories you have that are related to your credit report. They can range from general ways to check up on your report or ‘surprises’ that you found when you went through your latest report.

Some stuff to look at for 2007
I am going to stick to my budgets and not adjust the numbers to cover my shortcomings.
I will work out for 20 minutes, 3 times a week. I know this may not sound like much but I NEVER exercise….EVER. Every so often I will start something and do it for two days then give up. I usually try to start out too big I think so then I lose my motivation easily. 20 minutes a day, three days a week is easy and I can always add to the routine.

Words of inspiration
I got a visit from LeighAnn today just as I was heading over to her blog to get some updates. I was very surprised and happy (almost like it was ME) to read her post on the credit cards. I stumbled upon LeighAnn by accident a few months ago by someone who thought the blog was a fake. I started to read just for fun but the deeper I got the more I realized this was serious.
No Credit Needed Network
Ok, in the spirit of getting my debt under control I have posted my chart up on the No Credit Needed Network.
This is a great visual reminder of where you are and where you want to be when it comes to debt reduction. My chart is depressing because there are so many charts that have better percentages paid off. Seeing this just makes me more determined to get it reduced so once again I am taking a deep breath and plunging right in.
