Electric Orange check came in the mail

Posted by LuLuGal | February 26, 2007 .

I wrote a $1.00 check to myself from my Electric Orange account from ING. I wanted to see what the paper checks looked like so I opened the envelope in a hurry.

The check is purple…or maybe it is a light blue.

There is NOT a trace of orange anywhere…how sad.

I really wanted the checks to have some orange somewhere but they don’t so I am a bit disappointed.

I still love ING anyway and I am going to deposit that check into my regular checking account because I have to go to the ATM to make another deposit today.

Update on Cash Duck contest

Posted by LuLuGal | February 26, 2007 .

I just checked the stats and so far the person in the lead is the person who signed up as my referral with the id of b2mje112.

i will post the official results with the ending screen shot figures and then I will need the winner to email me at lulugal AT howisavemoney DOT com so I can get your mailing address to send the prize out.

Good job folks….and don’t forget you can get your own referrals to sign up under you…or use your feathers to purchase an unassigned referral.

Link Love: A Creative Desktop

Posted by LuLuGal | February 25, 2007 .

In another burst of link mania this blog has been mentioned on A Creative Desktop which is another highly ranked blog on the technorati scale. At the time of writing A Creative Desktop was ranked at 388 but when I checked it was up at 361. That was a big jump in a very short time.

Although the blog deals with other very technical issues one thing I found interesting is that they have been linking to all the reviews that John Chow has done in his link love spree where you review his blog. I wonder if that little exercise had anything to do with the rise of A Creative Desktop at all?

5.9% balance transfers

Posted by LuLuGal | February 25, 2007 .

I just got an offer from one of my credit cards to do a balance transfer. They are offering me a 5.9% interest rate until January 2010 and then it goes to the purchase rate after that.

creditcards.jpgI have decided to transfer a large portion of another card that I have which has a MUCH higher rate over to this card. Even with the balance transfer fees (which I already calculated) I will end up saving money on this balance over the upcoming months by making the balance transfer.
