Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging for one main reason - to hold myself accountable. I know that some friends, family and some strangers will see those numbers every month and I like to do my best to make sure they are tracking in the right direction.

How long have you been blogging?

I could save more money if I chose to walk to Walmart. Well that is what my mother suggested to me recently because the WalMart is one mile from where I live.

Now I have not taken her advice yet for two main reasons:

I am still recovering from my surgery

WalMart is on a very busy street

These are the two things that are really keeping me from walking to the store to get the things I need. When I really think about it, walking to the store would actually be a good idea for me because I could get my exercise in AND save money by not making that short drive.

I stopped looking to see if I could save money in March because I have gone way over my budget. My mother came up to stay with me to take care of me since I had my surgery and I just know that I blew my budget for the month. I bought more food since she obviously does not eat the way I do….she eats meat and I don’t even eat chicken.

Here is the state of my credit card accounts at How I Save Money.

You all know that I was TOTALLY ignorant about the use of credit cards and credit scores when I started and made some REALLY bad decisions.

I ended up with a large number of credit cards and carried balances on all of them for a LONG time.

A good deal of the credit card debt that I have was from paying my way through school. I was totally broke and put EVERYTHING on the credit cards…from books and tuition to bread.

Honey has been researching universities recently and this made me think of my own experience, along with some other friends. I studied business in school and did not take any co-ops like I should have. Then I have a friend (actually a blog stalker) who did engineering and would have benefited greatly from the engineering co-op programs offered at Kettering University.

This is an amazing program that places freshmen in co-op positions and allows them to rotate between regular class and the work environment every three months. This way, students gain that useful practical experience while they are learning the concepts. This is a great way to put into practice all that you learn in school while it is still fresh in your mind.

Why did you start blogging?

There are many reasons I started blogging and following are the top four highlights. First, I really enjoy writing however have a technical day job. I rarely get the opportunity to write at work and started blogging to get back into writing.
