Lost My Discover Card

Posted by LuLuGal | July 26, 2008 .

I am so mad at myself right now. I used my Discover card on Tuesday and forgot to put it back in my wallet. Then on Wednesday I got to the store and did not have the card to shop with.

I had to end up calling Discover to have the card cancelled and order a new one.

The new card will take about a week to get here but I am annoyed. The thing is that if I really did lose it outside of the house then someone can see my name and signature. I will be getting a new account number but just the fact that the old information is out there is disconcerting.

How Did I Get Into This Financial Mess?

Posted by LuLuGal | July 25, 2008 .

I was recently in a really big financial mess. I had credti cards bursting at the seams with no visible way of paying them off. I was making the minimum payment on everything because that was all I could afford in order to not have any of the payments come up as late. Every month the balances were increasing because I was racking up interest on the cards and then I was adding more and more purchases to the cards as well.

I took up selling plasma to be able to cover the bills because I did not really have any other way that I could bring in more money.

Save Money by Air Drying Your Laundry

Posted by LuLuGal | July 25, 2008 .

Welcome to How I Save Money . Today I will be showing you a really simple way to save money on your laundry costs this summer. Why not take advantage of the hot weather and air dry your laundry?

Now I know the majority of people will say they live in apartments or neighborhoods where you are not allowed to hang lines. That is okay. I am air drying my laundry inside of my apartment and it is working out great.

$8.50 for a Flat

Posted by LuLuGal | July 24, 2008 .

Welcome to How I Save Money. This post is not about me saving money because I had to spend money. I was at a workshop this week when someone told me I had a flat tire.

Scream!

I ended up having to spend $8.50 to get the flat tire fixed.

Not a lot in terms of the general economy I know…but just an expense I did not want to have.

Should I Cleanse My Colon To Save Money In the Future?

Posted by LuLuGal | July 22, 2008 .

I have been reading a lot about alternative medicines and I was looking at some things that talked about using a natural colon cleanser to maintain your weight and health. Now I have heard of enemas and using laxatives to cleanse but I wanted a little more information on something that was more natural.

I remember reading up on the lemon cleanse but I thought that was a bit too extreme for me so I might need something a little easier to manage. I am interested in this because I saw on Oprah about things that stay in your colon and make you sick and when I was little my mother would have us get a purge every summer.

Tracking My Finances In July: Day 22

Posted by LuLuGal | July 22, 2008 .

Welcome to How I Save Money and tracking of income and expenses for the month.

Penny.GIF

Income for the month to date: $215.22

Expenses for the month to date: $2235.63

Net effect: -$2020.41

Wow it is closer to the end of the month and the end of all the money spent for the month as well. I have paid all of the bills for the month except the LASIK bill which is due at the end of the month. My insurance came in at about $3 less than the amount I had budgeted so that was a good deal for me. It simply means the extra money will be snowflaked over to a credit card payment.
