How I Save Money At CVS: Valentines Day 2010
Today I paid $0.00 out of pocket for $29.98 worth of items. Today is Valentine’s Day but the deals at CVS were not all that great in my mind. I only got three items that I really wanted and was not impressed by the rest of the selections. I made a purchase last week that I forgot to post so transaction 1 will be last week and transaction 2 will be this week.
Since my gift card balance is now so low and I made a pledge to not spend out of pocket at CVS this year I will have to find a way to generate another gift card so that I can continue shopping there.

Today I paid $0.00 out of pocket for $3.98 worth of items. I got the toothpaste for my dad and the toothbrush for myself to place in my overnight bag. I was all excited about the Kitty litter being on sale but when I got there the box was a small box, and not the size I normally buy.

How I Save Money At CVS: 10 January 2010
Today I paid $0.00 out of pocket for $15.86 worth of items. At first I bought the wrong item and had to return it so the money was put on a gift card but I put the totals as one. I also found a $50 gift card that I had gotten way back in September of last year. I had taken it to my best friend’s house when I went to spend a weekend and forgot it there. This means I have more CVS money than I thought and this makes it even better for me.
Transaction 1
Item: Cottonelle toilet paper

Today I paid $0.00 out of pocket for $7.99 worth of items. This was my first transaction for the year but I started the year off with $9.00 in ECBs and $11.39 in gift cards. I decided to get some toothpaste to replenish my stash from last year and also got one toothbrush. I remembered to use my Green Tag reusable shopping bag so that I could work towards that extra ECB for bringing your own bag.
How I Save Money At CVS: 30 December 09
Today I paid $0.00 out of pocket for $19.98 worth of items. I got those two items for my father and I will be shipping them to him along with some other items that he requested.
This is my last CVS transaction for the year of 2009 and I must say I am pleased with the experiment. I spent a total of $253 of my own money yet generated over $700 in ECBs to enable me to buy things at the store. Now that I am able to use some of my cash back rewards to purchase gift cards for CVS I plan on NOT spending any money out of pocket there again. I will simply use the gift cards and ECBs to gain even more items at discounted prices.
How I Save Money At CVS: 29 Dec 09
Today I paid $0.00 out of pocket for $24.96 worth of items. I messed up this time because I forgot to scan my green tag bag so I missed out on getting my $1 ECB. This is the second time I missed out on scanning my bag and I realized the reason why. I normally put my coupon binder in my reusable shopping bag and that reminds me to scan it because my hand is directly on the bag.
How I Save Money At CVS: 20 December 2009
Today I paid $0.00 out of pocket for $21.97 worth of items. I had a few ECBs that were going to expire at the end of the month so I decided to go ahead and splurge on some candles because I really love scented candles and I am ALWAYS burning them. I need to get some more toothbrushes so I took advantage of one CVS deal to get a toothbrush. I missed out on getting one ECB for using my green bag tag because the cashier did not scan my bag during the purchases.
Transaction 1
Item: Glade scented candles (buy $12 get $4 ECB.)
