Be A Better Blogger with Dragon Naturally Speaking 10!

Posted by LuLuGal | September 29, 2008 .

How can you become a better blogger with Dragon Naturally Speaking? Well, if you are like me then you speak faster than you type…and that is how you become better.

Sometimes I want to write a post but at the end of the day I am so tired that I just don’t want to type anymore. I think that if I had a product like Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 Standard then I could just talk out loud and have all the typing done for me. Then I could save my poor tired wrists for simple editing like inserting pictures and formatting other areas like fonts.

Great Credit Cards for Airlines

Posted by LuLuGal | September 12, 2008 .

It is time for me to take someone to the airport this weekend and I was thinking about where I can get the best Airlines Cards so that I could maximize airline miles.

The person who is taking the trip is not a member of any airline miles rewards club, even though she makes about two trips per year. I like to use credit cards to get rewards so I think the best thing for me to do would be to use a credit card that also gave miles as rewards. That way you can use the miles to earn discounts and even free trips!

Back To School And Organization Time

Posted by LuLuGal | September 1, 2008 .

It is time to go back to school tomorrow and I am so happy that I have Color labels for all the folders I need to keep track of all the time. I am currently working at an alternative school and I deal with students from elementary school to High school.

I decided to color code my student’s general files so that I can easily tell what level a student falls into. So my color coding system is as follows:

  • High school boys are Green
  • High school girls are Pink
  • Middle school boys are Purple

Moving To A New Host

Posted by LuLuGal | September 1, 2008 .

I have been having some technical issues here lately with the host of this site. I don’t know what the exact problems are but a few people have been telling me the site is down and then I am told that the host is down.

I am thinking of moving to a new host and wanted to find a web host rating site that could help me to make a good decision. I finally found such a site and although I will be leaving the final decision to my support person I wanted to see what other people were saying about some of the top web hosting providers.

Should I Pay for Cisco Certification?

Posted by LuLuGal | July 28, 2008 .

I have been thinking about my life a bit more deeply these days since I am not working right now. Many of the positions that I have seen are now requiring some sort of extra certification that I do not have. I have a business degree with a focus on Information Systems but no experience in my field.

I have experience in other fields like retail, banking and of course education but zilch when it comes to formal IT experience. This has been a big barrier to me lately and I am wondering if I should go ahead and try to scrape together the money to get my Cisco certification so I can get a leg up on the competition.
