Line Drying Clothes Until The Heat Goes Away
One of the ways to save money that I find is simple is to line dry my clothes. I live in an apartment without a balcony so I bought a folding drying rack.
I simply put the clothes in the washer and then when they are done I hand them on the drying rack in the second bedroom. The windows are open during the day so fresh air and sunlight come pouring in. The clothes dry in a few hours and I save money from not using the drier.
Tracking My Finances In 2010: July Week 1
I have decided to post my weekly spending for the previous week on Fridays so you know how my cash has been flowing for the week. Please note that I get paid on the last day of the month so my cash flow net effect will usually be negative until the last day of the month.
This does not mean that I am adding to my debt, it just means that the money coming in is less than the money going out because bills are due starting on the first but I don’t get paid until the last day.
The Personal Finance Learning Curve (Guest Post)
Learning the basics of personal finance is often saved until our first brush with student debt. In the present economic environment though, this can be a difficult lesson, with very little room for error. As the student lifestyle can be an expensive one, this shortage of jobs can make paying off our student debt a daunting prospect. So, the personal finance learning curve needs to be a steep one.

How I Save Money At CVS: 13 June 2010
Today I paid $0.00 out of pocket for $16.98 worth of items. I actually got more body wash and toothpaste which I am giving to imy best friend since I have enough of those items in my bathroom right now.
I ended up getting a bonus set of extra bucks due to a glitch in the system but I am not complaining. The ad in the paper said there was a limit of one on the body wash, meaning you could only get one set of extra bucks…but I had a buy one get one free (BOGO) coupon for the body wash so I got two…and the ECBs printed as double the amount.
Line Dried Clothes To Save Money
It is very hot right now and this means that line drying is in full swing again. I live in an apartment where I do not have a balcony so I bought a drying rack and set it up in the spare bedroom.
The room is well ventilated and I just open the window to let fresh air and some sunlight in. The clothes usually dry in a couple of hours but since I am only doing laundry about every three days I just leave the clothes on the rack until I am ready to get the next load.
How I Use My Snowflake Account
I have mentioned before that I use a zero based budget but I also have a snowflaking habit. Snowflaking refers to putting aside small amounts of money which later go reducing debt or building up savings. I currently have my budget set up so that every month I transfer $25 from my ING Electric checking account to a saving sub account called Snowflake. This account also receives money from Paypal when someone pays for advertising on the blog.
