Monthly Financial Update: March 2010
Whew it is time to look at one full month of finances and see how I came out in the end. I was in the black again for the month even after making a few larger than normal debt snowflake payments and a bit of overspending. I came out at $139.53 in the black after getting my paycheck and buying some more groceries in a last minute rush late in the evening.
Tracking My Finances In 2010: February Week 4
I have decided to post my weekly spending for the previous week on Fridays so you know how my cash has been flowing for the week. Please note that I get paid on the last day of the month so my cash flow net effect will usually be negative until the last day of the month.
This does not mean that I am adding to my debt, it just means that the money coming in is less than the money going out because bills are due starting on the first but I don’t get paid until the last day.
6 Questions To Get To Know Each Other Financially
I saw this post over at Budgets Sexy and thought it was a good way for us all to share a little bit more. I encourage you to fill out your own responses in the comments below so that we can all get to know each other a little better.
1) How do you spend: cash, debit or credit?
Wisdom Tooth Is Causing Me Financial Pain
I had a Wisdom tooth taken out in December and according to what I was told by the billing specialist I put the balance on the credit card that I used when I got LASIK a couple of years ago.
I was lucky to get 0% financing on that card and planned to pay it off well before the deal expired. I went ahead and tweaked my Zero Based Budget to fit the payments in and I was on a roll….until I received a bill from the dental office for an extra $260.50. This is the balance that the dental insurance has decided it will not cover off the $450 that was charged for my anesthesia.

Monthly Update: December 2009
Even with the crazy Christmas spending and the unexpected bills I still managed to come out in the BLACK this December….by $27.63. Woo hoo!!!!
I spent $48.08 on gas this month, leaving me with $16.92 in the gas budget. I know this does not seem like a lot but I only made one trip out of town this month, when I usually make two. Also, I was at home for the last two weeks of the month since school is closed. My gas budget will remain as is because during the summer time I use more of the budget.
Automating My Finances Has Made Me Bored
I have tweaked the way I pay bills and automated my finances to the point where I am now bored. I do not ‘pay’ bills because they are all drawn off my rewards earning credit cards. I then have ING push a payment every week to the credit card and by the end of the month the card is paid in full and I have not incurred any interest.
