Why did you start blogging?
I originally started it to maintain a journal of my thoughts,
musings and investment adventures (and mis-adventures).
Nearly 3 years.
I’m an unemployed blogger! seriously though, its
a part-time endevour.
Winner of the Gas Card And Happy Birthday to Me!!!
Today is my birthday….but someone else is getting a gift!
The winner of the FREE Gas card from me is commentor #9, Janet Goodman. I wrote the number of entries each person got and then dropped each of the entries into bag and shook it.
If you only took one step then you only got one slip of paper, if you commented and left a linkback then your name got put in twice….and so on.
I then drew out a slip of paper and that was the winner. Not very scientific I know…but it was the only way I could think of getting the commenters plus the subscribers plus the linkbacks.

Interest Income Makes Me Happy (Wealth, Money & life Network topic)
Welcome to How I Save Money. Every month the members of The Wealth, Money & Life Network choose a topic to post on and we each give our own perspective on our respective blogs. Our topic for the month of July is Interest Rates and we wrote about Emergency Funds in May and Gas in June.
I recently got some interest income from my ING accounts and this gave my balances a nice little lift. I do not try to calculate how much interest I will be getting, nor do I count on it as a given. I am just happy to get it when I do get it and I treat it as a bonus.
Tracking My Finances In July: Day 8
Welcome to How I Save Money and tracking of income and expenses for the month.
Income for the month to date: $204.52
Expenses for the month to date: $1224.59
Net effect: -$1020.07
This month was good so far for income because I got some payments from sponsors in different areas. I do some private ads on this blog and I hope that they generate good traffic for my sponsors. I also took part in some surveys last month that I completely forgot about and some mini opps on another site, that brought in $28. I was very happy to see that money come in because I was not expecting it and I have been spending more in gas than I had planned on because of going to the hospital so often to be with my mother.

How long have you been blogging? A little over a year
Are you a part time blogger or full time blogger? I don’t think I can even be called a part time blogger. I’m a hobbist.
What keeps you motivated? Seeing my balances grow.
Tracking My Finances In July: Day 4
Welcome to How I Save Money and tracking of income and expenses for the month.
Income for the month to date: $7.40
Expenses for the month to date: $925.42
Net effect: -$918.02
Here I am once again with a negative balance at the beginning of the month because I get paid at the end of the month and most of my bills are due during the first week. My expenses so far for the month have been rent (which went up….and I now have to pay insurance on the apartment), utilities and some fast food I bought while visiting mother in the hospital.
