How Cool is Cuil?
Welcome to How I Save Money. I have been seeing a lot of talk about Cuil (pronounced like cool….go figure) and how it is set to rival Google. Cuil is a new search engine that is set up to provide a better search experience than Google to give users more alternatives.
I have not bought stock in the company but we just need to wait and see what is happening with it. I did a search for my name and I did not even rank as number one for that (it is not a common name).
How I dealt with a Google Page Rank drop at How I Save Money
On December 11th, 2007 I got an email from a sponsor saying that they required at least a Google page rank of 2 and because of the rating of my blog I no longer qualified for their services.
This threw me for a little bit because I knew that my blog was ranked at a 3 in the last two weeks. It was previously a 4 and then dropped one point when Google did the round of drops that everyone was talking about.
Adsense Scrolling Ads: My take
You may have noticed that Adsense has put out some new ads that have little arrows on the bottom. These are the new scrolling ads format that Adsense has released in an effort to provide even more relevant ads to websites and blogs.
The theory behind this is that instead of just showing one ad per slot you now have the chance to scroll through multiple ads in one ad block. This should supposedly cause readers to find an ad that interests them because more content is being provided.
