Another Missed Opportunity…That I Did Not Miss

Posted by LuLuGal | September 22, 2008 .

Welcome to How I Save Money.

Every month the members of the Wealth,
Money & Life Network take on a topic and write as a group. The
topic for this month is Missed Opportunities.

I was speaking to a coworker when she asked if I wanted to make some
extra money. I was excited at the thought of more money but still a bit hesitant, so I asked what she was referring to.
She said there was a training session that I could attend and get paid for going.

Why Do We Keep On Missing Each Other? (WML Group Writing Project)

Posted by LuLuGal | September 3, 2008 .

Welcome to How I Save Money. Every month the members of the Wealth, Money & Life Network take on a topic and write as a group. The topic for this month is Missed Opportunities.

I love the song”Missed Opportunities” by Hall and Oates. I think it relates well to my relationship with money right now because money and I just keep missing each other. Our world is out of order….and I all I see is missed opportunities.

No More Interest For Me

Posted by LuLuGal | July 22, 2008 .

Welcome to How I Save Money . This month the members of the Wealth, Money and Life Network are writing about Interest Rates and the ways in which they affect us. I just made some major payments over to some credit cards and I am proud to say that as of today My Citi visa has been paid off completely.

The interest rate on this card was very high at first and then I got it down to 8.9% , which is still high, but definitely better than what it was before. This means that although I completely wiped out the savings accounts I will no longer be paying interest to this card. The interest rate was killing me and I have been carrying a balance on this card for a LONG time.

How I Save Money on Gas with Hypermiling (Wealth, Money & Life Network group project)

Posted by LuLuGal | June 11, 2008 .

I recently wrote How I Save Money on Buying Gas and I mentioned Hypermiling , which caused a reader to ask me what that was. Hypermiling is simply a method of using various techniques to get the best gas mileage you possibly can.

According to Hypermiling.com there are six basic steps that you can use to achieve hypermiling but I do not use all of them, which is why I said I practice a mild form of hypermiling.

One step I do not use is the Cruise Control method…because my car does not have cruise control!!!!!

How I Save Money on Buying Gas

Posted by LuLuGal | June 3, 2008 .

This month, the members of the Wealth, Money & Life Network have chosen Transportation as our group writing project. This is very close to our hearts right now with gas prices being what they are and just being on the rise still.

I recently wrote about my gas budget and how I make it through the month on just about $70 a month for gas . Of course I do have a fuel efficient car (go Mitsubishi Lancer!!!) and I practice a mild form of hypermiling (which I will write about later).

Wealth, Money and Life Network favorite posts

Posted by LuLuGal | May 8, 2008 .

Here are my favorite recent posts from the members of the Wealth, Money & Life Network.

Dividends 4 Life shows us how to save money by giving the Gift Of Nothing . Now I must say I was a bit disturbed as I read the first sentence because I thought this guy was being WAAAAY too cheap…but then I realized what he was talking about.

Dollar Frugal shows us how she Did Not Save $80 On Insurance . This reminds me of the time I ended up Switching To Geico to save money on my car insurance . It sounded a bit cliche but I tried them and really did get a better deal, but I almost missed out on it because I thought Geico was just a gimmick.
