How I Save Money At CVS: 14 June 09

Posted by LuLuGal | June 17, 2009 .

Today I paid $0.00 out of pocket for $6.99 worth of items. I decided to try out this new Purex detergent sheet that combines detergent, anti static  and fabric softener in one easy to use sheet.

There are 20 sheets in the package but since I basically got it for free I am not too worried about the cost per sheet.

I also used up the total balance on the gift card by helping with someone else’s purchases.

  2. I’d like to know how well did the purex sheets work for you?

They recommend using them in warm water but I did my laundry in hot that day. I must say that they did not really impress me because apparently using hot water washes away the part that has the anti static and the fabric softener that should be used in the dryer.

I am air drying my clothes now so I did not get to utilize the sheets in the dryer…..and had already decided not to use the dryer when I saw that the hot water had washed away the softener layer.

The clothes were slightly softer after being hung than when I do not use softener so I guess it was not too bad.

I will have to get someone else to try them or use the dryer and a cold wash to really tell I guess.

I’ve also tried once Purex and I wasn’t very satisfied by it. I’ll still do my laundry with ARIEL.

  4. Between the Walgreens deal on All a month ago, this Purex deal, and some nearly-free Dynamo from my supermarket, I’ve snagged about 140 loads worth of detergent for a total of $3.50 out of pocket. Should get me through about 35 weeks…wow, a dime a week for all of my personal and massage biz laundry. Cool. I hope my Purex experiences are a bit better than yours!

Ohhhh, I am dropping my laundry off at YOUR place then. :-)

Congratulations on getting all that stuff for that price. I know people look at us funny with our coupons…but then my friends are amazed when I never run out of detergent and I did not spend as much as they did.
