I have decided to post my weekly spending for the previous week on Fridays so you know how my cash has been flowing for the week. Please note that I get paid on the last day of the month so my cash flow net effect will usually be negative until the last day of the month.

This does not mean that I am adding to my debt, it just means that the money coming in is less than the money going out because bills are due starting on the first but I don’t get paid until the last day.

So again to clarify (since I get so many questions), this shows the cash FLOW for the month. On Day 2 of every month I will have a negative FLOW because I have paid rent etc so money has LEFT my checking account. I have not had any money come in on Day 2 of the current month since I got paid on day 27 or 30 or 31 of the previous month so that income is counted for LAST month.

twentyIncome for the month to date: $70.55

Expenses for the month to date: $3504.42

Net effect: -$3433.87

Since the last posting I paid $533.52 at the pre-op visit for the doctor’s fees for my surgery and still have to pay $1618.44 to the surgery center plus whatever will be billed by the anesthesiologist. The pre-op fees came out of the HSA but I do not have enough to cover the remaining fees in the account. I will pay those fees on one of my credit cards and will then reimburse myself from the HSA after I pay off the credit card.

I spent $31.51 on gas because of the trips to the doctor and also due to the rising gas prices all around.

This month my spending will be WAY over my income because of all the extra spending that came along with having surgery last week. I did use money that had already been saved in most cases or will be in savings in the future. I have not incurred any additional debt as a result of this surgery but it has reduced my savings a little bit and has made me go over a few budget categories.

I am very grateful to be recovering on schedule right now and I hope and pray for a speedy recovery in the next few months.

I will see you guys and gals later as I continue my journey to save money and become debt free!!!!
