Today….after playing for three days (with various lengthy breaks) I have ten villagers. I just had one of my master builders die and I did not even notice the little skeleton until I was about 15 minutes into the game.

Since I am playing on the difficult level it has been very hard for me to keep the villagers alive. They eat their food faster than I can provide for them. I do not have enough technology points to get them to learn to fish as yet. Part of this is because the scientists keep leaving the research table to run around being ‘worried about food’ while not doing anything useful at all.

I have two full time builders clearing the blockage over the lake so the farmers can get even more fresh water for the food to grow. This will also increase their building skills because only a highly skilled farmer can teach the villagers how to fish.

I am trying to figure out how to keep my little population alive but it is proving to be more difficult than I thought. If I had more babies on the island then I would have more scientists, farmers etc…..but I am unable to have the villagers make babies because their food supply is low. I am really struggling now with this but I guess I will have to pay more attention to the villagers instead of leaving them on their own.
