I have made a few more changes to the site. Well actually my technician over at Web Dev made the changes.
Posts now show only the first 100 words and then there is a link to read the rest of the post. We decided on this as a way to save space on the front page. Having the shorter posts will allow for more posts to appear on the front page but will make the page load faster.
The old style had the entire post showing on the front page. This way was okay if there were a few short posts but when there was a long post it really stretched the post out.
Do you like the abbreviated posts with the link where you can click to read more OR do you want the full post to appear on the front page? Please let me know.
Feeds are still going through my feedburner as full feeds so you can read the feeds that way.
I have been debating this same change. I think 100 words may be too short but I haven’t found a great number either. So 100 is probably as good as any. It also helps with your bounce rate on Google Analytics.
Well I am not too sure if I really like the look of the short posts but that seems to be the thing to do so I will keep it for now.
What is the bounce rate anyway? 🙂
