In Serious use for Silly String, we are told how troops are being innovative during their stint overseas.

Before entering a building, troops squirt the plastic goo, which can shoot strands about 10 to 12 feet, across the room. If it falls to the ground, no trip wires. If it hangs in the air, they know they have a problem. The wires are otherwise nearly invisible.”

The post is interesting but goes on to say that the use of the string is supposed to be kept secret.

The military is reluctant to talk about the use of Silly String, saying that discussing specific tactics will tip off insurgents.

Well…..if it should not be talked about….WHY is it on the internet..and on a homepage too. Somehow it seems to me that this ‘secret’ is not really secret.

This will help them to save money because the cans are being donated to them and detecting the booby traps will save lives. I just do not see the point of saying the military is reluctant to talk about it when someone else is obviously just posting it on the internet for everyone to see.
