I have decided to post my weekly spending for the previous week on Fridays so you know how my cash has been flowing for the week. Please note that I get paid on the last day of the month so my cash flow net effect will usually be negative until the last day of the month.

This does not mean that I am adding to my debt, it just means that the money coming in is less than the money going out because bills are due starting on the first but I don’t get paid until the last day.

So again to clarify (since I get so many questions), this shows the cash FLOW for the month. On Day 2 of every month I will have a negative FLOW because I have paid rent etc so money has LEFT my checking account. I have not had any money come in on Day 2 of the current month since I got paid on day 27 or 30 or 31 of the previous month so that income is counted for LAST month.

twentyIncome for the month to date: $20.20

Expenses for the month to date: $966.02

Net effect: -$945.82

Since the last posting I received $4.10 from Lending Club as income on my investment. I also got $9.10 interest from my holdings at ING based on last month’s balances in all accounts. I spent $64.98 on food for the week, including $7.98 pecans for snacking in between meals. I also got two checks from PineCone from previous surveys, giving me a total of $6 this week. I sent that money over to my Ally checking account via their free envelopes and the money will be deposited to my account once they receive the mail.

I spent $24.78 on household items including $16 on an emergency light/lantern. We have been having some terrible weather lately and with the power outages I found that my little crank flashlights were losing juice pretty quickly. This lantern has LEDs but uses regular batteries. I was a bit annoyed as I would have liked to use rechargeable batteries in it but at this point I will take what I get to stay safe during the bad weather.

I will see you guys and gals later as I continue my journey to save money and become debt free!!!!
