Welcome to Money Mondays!

(If you are not reading this post at www.howisavemoney.net or in your feed reader, it may have been stolen from my site.)

I used to post my financial inflows and outflows on Fridays in the past but I decided to move this to Mondays instead. Normally I go grocery shopping on Sundays after church. Now I will post the last week’s worth of financial inflows and outflows on Monday so that I can include the weekend spending as well.

This week my financial outflows were:

$32 for the phone bill. $71.79 for the electric bill. This is a bit high for around this time but we have been at home for about three weeks due to the Coronavirus going around. I’ve been working from home and that means being on the computer teaching live from Zoom, as well as attending meetings and holding office hours.

$303.28 for groceries. This included perishable and non-perishable items. I decided to do a massive shopping trip so that I would not have to go to the store for the rest of the month.

Yes, the rest of the month.

The shelter at home is supposed to last until April 30th and people need to avoid the stores as much as possible. I went in and got a full shopping cart of everything, after making a list at home on my phone.

After getting a few more things that I use on a daily basis I decided to get a backup of some other items. I think I now have enough to last the full three weeks until the end of the month.

In fact that is my goal for the month. My plan is to avoid either going back out or placing an online order until the end of April.

The one thing I will do is to go out for gas some time this week. I am at almost a quarter tank and that is the time I normally fill up. My plan was to get gas after groceries but I got hungry!
